Unfolding Wheat

As one of the leading causes of climate change, conventional methods of agriculture must be redefined, questioned, and subverted. The team at Chateau de Courances has converted 500 hectares of conventional cereal fields into organic and regenerative farmland. Through no-till, cover cropping, agroforestry, and rotational grazing, the fields will be able to store carbon, rebuild soil, and provide healthier, nutritious crops. This project explores these regenerative methods of farming and imagines a holistic circular economy among the farm, the gardens, and the estate. The printed documentation physically and figuratively unfolds the cultural icon of wheat into a constellation of relationships.
