Central Brooklyn Tree Walks

“Field Meridian’s Nature School is an arts-based urban ecology curriculum that generates tools for resilience.”

The collective of artists and designers holds nature-centric workshops based in Central Brooklyn.

Throughout 2024, I have led walks through the Crown Heights neighborhood to identify the trees that provide shade, ecologies, and homes for species of all kinds. The walks focus on cultivating a practice of observation and curiosity. I teach tree identification and care, share stories of their cultural histories, and discus our shared future with them in a time of unprecedented global ecosystems change.
